ロンドンで一緒に住んでいた古き良き友達と彼女のダンナ様からプレゼントが届いた。一つは「きょうの猫村さん」というマンガ。猫が家政婦という設定。すごい面白くて、最初から最後までニヤニヤしながら読んだ。久しぶりに笑いのツボを連打された。２巻早くでないかな〜。お試し版はこちらから読めます。
この本の表紙にラベルがついています。 「私はとても特別な本。。。世界中を旅しているの。。。Bookcrossing.comに行ってみて。」と書いてある。Bookcrossing.comとは、世界中の本を共有しようという運動。読んだ本にラベルを付けて、友達に渡したり、駅やカフェなどに放置されることもある。本は人から人へと読みつがれ、世界中を旅する。本の感想はBookcrossing.comのサイトで書き込め、その本を読んだ人全員が読めるようになっています。楽しそうですね。
もう一つのプレゼントは猫つづきで、Alessiのボトルオープナー。Alessiのデザインって、ユーモアがあっていいですよね。うちでは、ビール瓶を開けることが多い（笑）ので、大活躍しそうです。

We received presents from our good old friend and her husband. We used to live with her in London. One present is a manga cartoon called “Today’s Necomura-san”. A cat called Necomura-san is a housekeeper in this manga. It was very funny and made me grin from the beginning until the end. This book repeatedly cracked me. I am so waiting for the second volume. You can read its sample here.
There was a label on the cover of the book, which said “I am a special book… I am traveling around the world… visit Bookcrossing.com”. Bookcrossing.com is a movement to share books in the world. You put this label on the book that you read and give it to your friend, or leave it at a station or a café. The book will be read from a person to another and travels around the world. You can write a review about the book you read at the website. All the people who read the book can read the reviews. It sounds like fun.
The other present was cat related, Alessi’s bottle opener. Alessi’s design is cool for its humor. This present will play an active role in our household since we open beer bottles a lot.

1979年Walter Hill監督の「The Warriors」を見た。アメリカン・コミックのような映像で、A Clockwork Orange（邦題：時計じかけのオレンジ）のアメリカ版といった雰囲気。あらすじは紀元前４世紀頃に書かれた、古代ギリシャの軍人、著述家であるクセノポンの著作、「アナバシス」に基づいている。舞台はニューヨーク、ストリートギャングのWarriors（ 写真）がNYギャングのリーダーCyrusを銃殺した疑いで、途轍もない数のギャングから追いかけられる。ギャングごとにユニフォームが違っていて、見ていて楽しかった。暴力的なシーンが多々あるが、タランティーノのようにグロくない。今では、この映画の暴力的なゲームがある。それはちょっと哀しいな。もっと哀しいことは、映画に出ていた俳優達が、声優としてゲームに出ていること。
この映画を貸してくれた夫の友人は、Warriorsのベストを作って、それを着てハロウィーンパーティに行ったらしい。かっちょええ。
We watched “The Warriors” which was directed by Walter Hill in 1979. The image is like American comics, and the atmosphere is like American version of “A Clockwork Orange”. The plot is based on Greek soldier and writer, Xenophone’s “Anabasis” which was written around 4th century BC. The film is set in New York. The street gang, the Warriors (photo), was suspected they shot a leader of the entire NY gang, Cyrus, and chased by incredeble numbers of the gangs in NY. It was fun to see gang’s uniforms which were different in each gang. There were many violent scenes but not grotesque like Trantino’s. Now a violent game of this film, which is bit sad, but more sad thing is the voices in the game is dubbed by the actors in the film.
My husband’s friend who lend us this film made the Warriors’ vest, and went to a Halloween party with the vest. Cool.
